We are pleased to announce that Chong Fang is the winner of the 2015 Robin Hochstrasser Young Investigator Award.
According to Professor Martin Zanni (University of Wisconsin-Madison): ‘Assistant Professor Chong Fang is a very spirited and prolific young professor at Oregon State University. Chong is a top-notch spectroscopist with an impressive publication record. He is pushing the technology behind femtosecond stimulated Raman spectroscopy (FSRS) and applying it to important scientific problems’.
Professor Robin Hochstrasser was the Editor for Chemical Physics for almost 4 decades. In that function, he had an immeasurably positive impact on the journal. Professor Hochstrasser was a pioneer in the application of lasers in chemical and biomedical research and during his long scientific career trained numerous students, many of which became distinguished scientists themselves (one of them was Ahmed Zewail).
To honor Robin Hochstrasser and support young scientists Elsevier initiated for Chemical Physics the Robin Hochstrasser Young Investigator Award.
